Course Matrices

Gallery of Projects

This page overviews the types of projects that Virginia Tech's ePortfolio Initiatives have helped to develop. This page is not exhaustive of all portfolio efforts at Virginia Tech. Additionally, all portfolios are essentially reflective processes, so even these gallery exhibits are continuous works in progress, which means they are under constant revision. Click on the exhibits shown below to view some of the ongoing ePortfolio projects at Virginia Tech. Contact us if you are interested in hearing more about ePortfolios@VT.

Course Matrices

A strong benefit of the portfolio Matrix is its ability to provide a workflow for students to submit course assignments, reflect on those assignments, and receive feedback and evaluations on their course submissions. The use of a Matrix can provide designated moments of submission and reflection throughout a course. The following are just a few of the pedagogical benefits of course matrices:

  • provide opportunities for students to perform self-assessment throughout the duration of a course or program
  • facilitate the presentation of student learning as it develops over time
  • help students make connections between their course and program assignments and their real-world applications
